The author was a forecaster in aviation meteorology and actively involved in the
design and set-up of the new Meteorological Office at Chek Lap Kok Airport. When
watching television in Hong Kong, he compassionately witnessed the tragedy of Tiananmen
Square on 4 June 1989 and decided to write a book in dedication to those who perished
there incognito. Having moved to Britain in the nineties, however, he found himself
under-prepared and therefore spent some years with the Open University and left with
a Master degree in Classics. In the ancient Greek tragic dramas, he found his inspiration
for the book.
